Wetzin’kwa Community Forest Corporation

Wetzin'kwa Community Forest Corporation is a long time supporter of Groundbreakers through the Community Grants funding several of our programs including the maintenance of School Gardens, noon hour Garden Clubs, hands-on workshps in gardening and cooking, our WildFoods trips, and years of Kid Dig Food Camps.

Bulkley Valley Community Foundation

Bulkley Valley Community Foundation helped fund the start up of our Good Food Tool Library, and has been a contributor to our School Gardens program and Kids Dig Food Camp. 

Farm to School

Farm to School has partnered with Groundbreakers and Muheim Elementary School to deliver Local Food Lunches in 2018/19

Regional District of Bulkley Nechako

The RDBN has been a key supporter of Kids Dig Food camps

Smithers Rotary Club

Smithers Rotary has helped fund the development and maintenance of school gardens and the delivery gardening workshops.

Northern Health

Northern Health plays an integral role in the small and rural communities of northern B.C. and through its Imagine Grants supports projects like Groundbreakers' Kids Dig Food Camp.

BV Community Arts Council

The Arts Council was a supporter of the Local Food Film Fest of 2017

Bulkley Valley Social Planning Society

BVSPS helped fund the development and maintenance of school gardens and the delivery of hands on local food and gardening workshops.

Investment Agriculture Foundation

The IAF helps BC organizations build prosperous and sustainable agri-food projects that focuses on self-sufficiency and sustainability. Groundbreakers was pleased to use IAF funding to run the Learning Gardens programs at three Bulkley Valley schools during 2017 to 2019.

TD Friends of the Environment

TD Friends of the Environment funds the development and care of school gardens in Smithers and Telkwa, including the class workshops in planting and harvesting. 

Real Estate Foundation of B.C.

Funded the beginning of Groundbreakers' school gardening workshops and the development and publication of our Kids Dig Food teaching resource manual ( see Resource section to download)

We appreciate the donations and support from hard working producers and local business towards the healthy food we grow and serve to children, including Nature's Pantry, Alpine Plant World, Small Potatoes Farms, Healthy Hugs Organics, Rustica Bakery, W Diamond Ranch, and The Grendel Group.
